Facial Rejuvenation: Blepharoplasty - Brow Lift - Neck Lift
Much of our communication is done through facial expressions. When this exchange is affected by aging skin or a physical defect, it may be time to correct the distraction. To accomplish this goal you may benefit from one of the following procedures:
Excess skin, muscle, and fat around the eyelids may cause drooping of the upper eyelid and a baggy lower eyelid. This may be corrected with blepharoplasty. These are done as an out-patient under local or general anesthesia. Dr. Hobbs provides you with a private fully licensed operating room for these adjustments.
Upper eyelid excess may contribute to reduction in your peripheral visual fields. This can compromise function like shoulder checking when driving. For safety and aesthetic reasons, a blepharoplasty may be of benefit to you. Each person's eyes are unique. Dr. Hobbs will discuss the possibilities for correction of your concerns whether upper or lower eyelids.
Brow Lift
As we age our skin loses some of its elasticity and gravity pulls the forehead skin down over the upper eyelid area. This may partially obstruct one's vision. There are at least four different surgical approaches including endoscopic brow lift for correction of these deformities. Dr. Hobbs will analyze which procedure is optimal for your situation.
Fine wrinkles which occur as the skin loses its elasticity are a normal part of the aging process. Some skin types develop more of these fine lines due to sun damage, genetics or smoking. Out patient skin resurfacing may be done without general anesthetic using topical anesthesia. Removal of fine wrinkles and tightening of loose skin may be achieved with Cutera Laser or other laser treatments. The color and youthfuness of the skin is improved. Face Lift
Due to the aging process all of us experience gravity's effects and excess changes of the face. Revising some of the gravitational changes in terms of position by elevating certain parts of the face corrects many problems. Removal of excess skin reduces wrinkles and gives a more youthful appearance. Many people benefit from a neck lift with or without the facelift. The optimal face lift may include removing or adding small amounts of your own fat cells to different areas of the face to improve the overall contour. The facelift incision location depends upon your own individual needs.
A neck lift corrects hanging loose and unwanted skin excess that is below the jaw line in the upper neck. Fatty excesses and severe turkey gobbler neck deformities may be dramatically improved. Liposuction may partially correct the area. Often a little tightening of the neck muscle (platysmus muscle) is required directly. Occasionally, in older people a large amount of excess skin and fat is removed directly giving a dramatic improvement in the lateral profile and jaw/neck definition. This can be done without a traditional facelift.
